During your first session, questions will be asked regarding each body system to facilitate a better understanding of your health. Chinese medicine seeks to find the root issue, treats the root problem which in turn helps to treat the branches (symptoms). What Sandra looks for are patterns of disharmony. When Qi and blood are blocked from their usual smooth flow, this creates disharmony and possibly pain and disease. Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine help bring balance and the "smooth flow" of blood and qi back to the body.

It is common to feel very relaxed during your treatment and even fall asleep! Acupuncture needles are very thin, sterilized and are of one-time use only. Most patients barely feel them and report a sense of "well-being" after their treatment.

If booking online for your first visit, it’s advisable to book 2-4 consecutive weekly appointments as my schedule gets booked up quickly. I suggest this because acupuncture has a cumulative effect, as in each treatment builds and reinforces the previous treatment. Going in for one treatment may give you relief but it will most likely slip back to original state due to not being reinforced with follow-up treatments. The more chronic your issue, the longer it can take.

WHAT TO EXPECT In your initial session, we’ll delve into questions about each body system to gain a comprehensive understanding of your health. Chinese medicine aims to address the root cause of ailments, treating the underlying issues rather than just the symptoms. Sandra identifies patterns of disharmony, which occur when Qi and blood flow are obstructed, leading to discomfort and illness. Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine work to restore balance and promote the smooth flow of blood and Qi throughout the body.

During treatment, many clients experience deep relaxation and may even drift off to sleep. Acupuncture needles are thin, sterile, and disposable, causing minimal discomfort. Most patients report a heightened sense of well-being following their session.

WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE YOU BOOK: For your first appointment booked online, it’s recommended to schedule 2-4 consecutive weekly sessions, as availability fills up quickly. This approach allows for the cumulative effects of acupuncture to take hold, with each session building upon the last. While a single treatment may provide relief, ongoing sessions are crucial for sustained improvement, particularly for chronic conditions.
